School and Library Visits

I’m available to visit your school or library for readings and presentations.

Here’s what Frances Parker of Rogers P.S. in Newmarket had to say about my recent visit:

Our Grade 7 and 8 students had the pleasure of hosting a visit by author, Deborah Kerbel, to talk about her book, ‘Mackenzie, Lost and Found’ and the presentation was a tremendous success. Deborah completely captured the attention of the intermediate students as she talked about her pathway to becoming a published author right from when she was a little girl. She included a quiz about famous authors which the students loved and it kept them actively engaged during the session, which was also evident by the number of questions for Deborah at the end and the lineup afterwards of students wanting to borrow the book. I would absolutely recommend Deborah for an author visit for intermediate/junior students. You won’t be sorry!”

If you’re interested in hosting me at your school or library,
please send me (be sure to include all your contact information).

Writing Workshops

My interactive workshop is designed to help kids and teens take their writing to the next level. Participants can expect to come away with a variety of creative new ideas and material for their stories as well as the tools to implement them.

Here’s what Sarah Ziolkowska, Youth Services Librarian at the Vaughan Public Library, had to say about my recent Teen Writing Workshop:

Deborah’s enthusiasm and passion for the creative writing process was inspiring to all of the young attendees of her workshop, who left brimming with ideas and excited to write.”
